Scottish Local Authority News is the independent magazine for local Government in Scotland. With the latest reports and analysis from around Scotland, plus in-depth articles and popular, regular features, it keeps Scotland’s Councils and their Partners informed on the issues that matter most.
We believe it to be vitally important that key decision makers at Scotland’s Local Authorities should be well informed on the changing circumstances which affect them and on the critical choices which they make every day of the year.
SLAN is designed, edited and published in Scotland and has been serving municipal authorities since 2001.

Scottish Local Authority News is distributed to the key decision makers at every one of Scotland’s 32 local authorities. To Heads of Service and above; to Council Leaders and Chief Executives; and to Committee Convenors and Depute Convenors across the full range of portfolios.
Additional free copies are made available to the Personnel, Communications and Risk Management departments at each local authority, and to the Chief Executive’s staff. Similarly, we include many of the vital Partnership organisations with which the Authorities work.
